Payroll Perfection with BrightPay

Letting everyone know BrightPay software saves users time and money.

From time to time we come across something that completely changes the way we work, and we love to spread the word. We’re not gatekeeping our happy work-life secrets; it might be a new coffee blend, a different way of prioritising tasks or, like today, discovering a piece of awesome payroll software.

Organised and Efficient Payroll

BrightPay has been a game changer for how we organise our time and process payroll on behalf of our clients (click here to see how we can make the entire payroll process so much easier for you). We’ve decided to compile a short review of what it is and why we think it’s so great. If you’re reading this and are an employer with staff or are in the accounting/bookkeeping game, we hope you’ll look into BrightPay a bit more afterwards. If you don’t have anything to do with accounting or bookkeeping and you don’t yet have any reason to process payroll, we hope you still keep reading! It might be helpful to you one day in the (not too distant) future.

What is BrightPay?

BrightPay is a payroll software which comes under the umbrella company Bright. BrightPay has been designed to help businesses efficiently manage payroll and stay compliant with UK tax laws. BrightPay is HMRC recognised and is compatible with all the good accounting software on the market at the mo (Xero, FreeAgent, QuickBooks, etc.).

Here’s why we recommend it over some of its competitors:

1. User-friendly Interface

Organise payroll with BrightPay software.

We can’t stress enough how important this is. Even though we’ve been processing payroll long enough to remember the calculator being the leading software tool, if the software isn’t easy to use, you don’t need it in your life. BrightPay’s layout is clear, intuitive, and keeps technical jargon to a minimum.

2. Cloud Access

We’re on Team Remote Worker, and being able to have everyone in BiGRoC and our clients access the same information is very important to us. If you’re an employer with even a small staff base, this is also  helpful. Why? See point 3 for details –

3. Employee Self-Service Portal

This feature allows employees to log in and easily view payslips without the burden of extra admin. Other features also include requesting leave and updating personal information. Saving you time and ensuring accurate records.

4. Integration with Accounting Software

Employee payslip

For us, this is a biggie and probably one of the main aspects which makes it better than a lot of comparable payroll software. So even if one of our clients uses Xero, another uses FreeAgent and still another uses Sage, thanks to BrightPay we only need one software to process payroll for each client. Even if you’re not working with a multitude of clients, it’s extremely helpful to have a payroll software that seamlessly integrates with your setup.

5. Batch Processing

Now this is a mini hero just in itself. Being able to process payroll for multiple employees in one go saves us an enormous amount of time.

6. Real Time Information (RTI) Submissions

Another gem of a feature: these RTI submissions automatically submit payroll data to HMRC in real time, ensuring compliance and avoiding penalties.

BiGRoC – Your Payroll Partner

BiGRoC Accounting saves clients time and money.

So if you haven’t guessed yet, we’re big fans of BrightPay. It saves us huge amounts of time and eliminates the risk of error which comes with doing bulk amounts of detailed work. Oh, and the automatic submissions are just the cherry on top. There’s a lot more to be said about BrightPay,  but we’d just go into full-on fan-girl mode if we did. Why not check out their own website here? They also offer a free 60-day trial so you can see if this is a good fit for you before committing.
